my first day in the rates office lillian was like a second mum to me always directing but not telling me . when i leant over the desk to answer the phone there she was holding the hem of my dress down to mantain dignity. she and ken barton another co worker used to organise the yearly outing always a good day and finished off with a nice meal. you never had a bad word about anyone to my knowledge a real lady. 

remember you always lillian, she used to tell me off if i called her lily.
